A gentle, experiential way to shift long‑held emotional and identity patterns.
What is IEMT?
Integral Eye Movement Technique is a brief, practical psychotherapy that helps change how the mind holds difficult experiences. Instead of revisiting old stories or analysing the past, IEMT works directly with the emotional imprints and identity patterns that keep people feeling stuck. Through guided eye movements and precise questioning, the nervous system is invited to reorganise how it stores certain memories, reactions, and beliefs.
Why this matters
Many emotional challenges persist not because of the original event, but because of the pattern that formed around it. These Patterns of Chronicity can feel like loops—automatic reactions, repeating thoughts, or identity statements such as “I always…” or “I never…”.
IEMT gently interrupts these loops, allowing the mind to update outdated emotional responses and self‑definitions. People often describe a sense of clarity, distance, and relief as the emotional charge around old experiences softens.
Trauma within equine people
For those who live and work closely with horses, trauma often carries a unique shape. It may arise from accidents, unpredictable moments, long‑term stress, or the emotional weight of caring for sensitive animals. Sometimes it comes from witnessing a horse’s distress, or from the deep responsibility held in training, handling, or therapeutic work.
These experiences can leave emotional imprints that sit quietly in the background—affecting confidence, timing, connection, and the ability to stay present in the relational field with a horse. Identity imprints may form too: “I should have known.” “I failed.” “I’m not safe.” “I’ve lost my nerve.”
IEMT offers a way to gently shift these imprints without needing to revisit the event itself. As the emotional charge reorganises, people often find they can return to their horses with more steadiness, clarity, and ease in their body.
How a session works
Sessions are calm, structured, and collaborative. You remain fully present and in control throughout. Together we explore the emotional or identity imprints connected to your concern, using eye movements to help your system shift what no longer serves you. Change is often felt quickly, sometimes within just a few sessions.
IEMT can support:
· Anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional intensity
· Loss of confidence around horses
· Persistent negative self‑beliefs
· Rumination and stress responses
· Identity‑based blocks
· Reactions that feel automatic or disproportionate
· Emotional residue from equine accidents or challenging experiences
IEMT does not erase memories. It simply changes how the mind holds them, creating more space, ease, and choice in the present moment
A pathway toward steadiness and clarity
IEMT offers a grounded, non‑intrusive way to move beyond repeating emotional patterns. It is well suited to equine people who want to reconnect with their horses from a place of presence rather than fear, tension, or self‑doubt.
